Love Me Tender

From the back of the truck in a heavenly world,
your blue eyes the sky reining my soul,
a restlessness in my palms to embrace the blooming flowerbeds
lingering adrift an ocean of your sweet breath.

Take me tender and slow, a soft caress of the wind,
the wheels spinning in circles dancing above my heart,
colorless halos sweetly provoking a desire alight
and still He drives on, on into the bright night.

Lips against feathery thorns, a refuge to kiss my pain away,
the tempered sadness of reality fading far,
just quiet whimpers, a passionate mumble- your voice, my silence.
Colors of magic enlighten my skin.

Pretty meadows await the porcelain sun,
a calming warmth to hush fragrant coos,
your gentle fingers, waving cattails,
love me tender; love me tender in this heavenly sight.

You let me go, and still He drives on, on into the night.
