We loved, you and I, in the cold November snow,
though chill could not overcome our heated passion,
my lips pressed softly to yours beneath the moon's white glow,
the whimpers of our secret desires from the sweet sensation.
I remember the way you looked at me, eyes wide,
full of care, an emotion words could never describe true,
staring deeply into my soul and suddenly I had nothing to hide,
not a single part of me that I didn't want to expose to you.
Ours hands wandered places unknown before,
tending the aches and pains of the past unhealed
where scars and bruises stung then but now found its cure
as the blanket of the night and tender palms became the shield.
There wasn't a thought in my mind that wasn't of you
as I lay in your cradling grasp, rocking slowly against your heart,
listening with every feeling in my body while my own flew
up above into a heaven where someday we'd go and never part.
Beautiful things you whispered adoringly into my ear,
and tears came quietly, spilling in weightless streams
down my blushing face, knowing with you I had nothing to fear,
that while the world may rip this chest, you were there to sew the seams.
Every kiss was of ultimate pleasure, yet nothing meant more,
for beneath the stars you showed me sincere devotion,
what it is to commit to someone and leave open the door,
so whenever we need leave, I would return to your compassion.
An escape at every turn, but I had no intention to go,
no curiosity to visit the life I lived until you passed by,
no will to rewind time back to when my universe was hollow,
until you took me into your arms and showed me a marvelous sky.
How impenetrable our happiness became in the moment
as we laughed and shared the warmth of our bliss,
we two flowers intertwining stems in utter enjoyment,
so close to together, and still we could miss.
That November night did pass, however, like time promises,
and with the snow you melted from my hold,
though all through the summer I dream of your caresses,
I know when the seasons change you'll be home to protect me from the cold.
