Stunned Sun

The stunned sun
perches up in the sky
and barks a ray of light
onto the little mice of people
before winter’s rage.

My Fault

I’m sorry because
my father’s temper has gone.
I’m sorry because
my mother’s dream has gone.
I’m sorry because
my brother’s mind is gone.
I’m sorry because
my sister’s courage is gone.
I’m sorry because
I made them disappear…

Drive Me Home

I’d like a ride home,
if you don’t mind,
in your car;
I’m still learning to drive.

Could we turn the radio on?
Let me choose the station.
Yes, I like this one;
it reminds me of you.

You don’t have to drive fast;
there’s no rush
for me
to get home.

There’s no need to take
any shortcuts;
I actually prefer
the long way around.

Would you mind if I
slipped my hand into yours?
Would you mind if I
leaned my head on your shoulder?

Can you see the pale moon
through the windshield?
Yes, it’s so beautiful;
I can see your face there.

Let’s talk about ourselves,
the hates we have towards life
and the likes,
but there is only one love.

I enjoying sitting by your side
as you push the accelerator
because you’re nervous
yet hungry for more.

Just as you stop
when we reach my house,
you wave a sad goodbye
but I’ll leave you with a kiss

because I want you to know
that I’m thankful
for everything you’ve given to me-
for all your love-

and that next time
when you drive me home
we won’t stop
until we’re lost in the night.

Barren Land of Death

sometimes i feel
like there's nothing left
just a dark barren land
at my feet

i walk on by
scraps of clothing
stained with fresh blood
blowing in the icy wind

pieces of wood
and stone
torn parts
of what was home

the sun refuses to
rise here
so hard
so cold

blinding dust
blowing like mist
sticking and burying
what remains

it's as if
a storm
swept the land
to promise death

no living creature
stirs but i
no sound
but that of my aching heart

no food
but the corpses
of the dead
of family

no water
but the sorrowful
tears i cry
in wake and sleep

my body withers
as each red light shines
in the sky
but no sun

the terrifying
icy chill
in the wind
unforgiving

many have died
the brave and frightened
the strong and weak
all now lay beneath the sand

there is no cry
like that from i
as i wail
when all light fades

no one to hear
no one to sing
with me
this melodious song

i am alone
i shall always be
until my body and soul perish
in this empty place

Her First One

June 11, 2012

a first tooth lost

it has ended; another has begun

two dollars, not one, from the little fairy

                      god bless!
