Young Lovebirds

Sweetness of mine, how you bring these warm tears
of joy inexpressible in mere words,
for 'I love you' would take countless, long years
to pronounce the feeling of young lovebirds.
I would give to you the world if you'd ask,
but you repeat so softly in my ears
I am the world to you, and my one task
is to kiss away on your lips my fears.
Held in your arms, I close my eyes and sigh,
happily savoring the sweet moment
of a time when it is just you and I
in the moonlight's beautiful, silk garment.
Let us dance away by fragrant candles,
fingers intertwined and adoring stares,
knowing of the future, my heart fondles,
you prevailing the deepest of my cares.
Fly with me into the sunset far above,
we two blissful doves forever in love.
